Johor Bahru, 2nd August – Celebrating 64th National Day this year, R&F Mall JB has teamed up with non-governmental organisation, Lions Club of JB City and local Facebook influencers to host a month-long online fundraising campaign. Themed ‘Stronger Together’, the fundraising campaign targets to raise twenty-five thousand Ringgit Malaysia in donations and contribute to the less fortunate community affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In order to reach more audiences and achieve greater results, R&F Mall JB joined force with popular Facebook influencers including ‘Little Apple Live’, ‘Octopus Marketplace’, ‘Lulala Local Food Sweet House’ and ‘Bird King Live’ to present the online fundraising shows Four shows will be live-streamed on Facebook at 2pm every Saturday throughout the month of August, selling ‘R&F Prosperity Bag’ at a fixed price RM50. Each bag consists eye patch, neck pillow, face masks, hand sanitizer etc.
“All these items are sponsored by R&F Mall, and 100% of the proceeds will go to charity. We hope everyone could join the cause to show love and kindness to the families in need,” said Ricky Cheung, Deputy General Manager of R&F Mall, “Also, we are very grateful for the charitable contributions by the Facebook influencers. They fully support this campaign without any fee, which truly showcase Malaysians’ spirit of giving and helping each other.”
Since R&F Mall’s opening in 2019, the mall determined in creating a brand-new shopping experience for Johoreans, from many first-in-JB brands, unique building structure, interesting events, to new facilities and landmark, including the first international Opera House in Johor. In order to cope with Covid-19 outbreak and ensure shoppers’ safety, R&F Mall has been working vigilantly from carrying out deep cleaning and sanitization throughout the mall on a frequent basis, to making sure the mall’s operations comply strictly to health and safety guidelines; Meanwhile, all festive activities and campaigns were conducted via ‘Online’ and ‘Contactless’ methods to avoid gathering crowds.
“On top of that, R&F Mall has been working to support the local community by setting up a food bank station to collect donations from shoppers,” Ricky Cheung added, “As part of the National Day celebrations this year, we’ve initiated the online fundraising campaign with a target to involve more partners, achieve better results and eventually help more people in need during this challenging time.”
The campaign partner, Lions Club of JB City, has pledged to serve and support local community since 1996. Ronnie Tang, Region 10 Chairperson of Lions Club of JB City said, “We are honoured to be invited to participate in this online fundraising campaign. We hope this new, creative, and safe charity event could attract more contributions from younger generations too.”
Benny Ang, influencer from Facebook fan page “Little Apple Live”, has been actively involved in charity events hence he immediately said ‘yes’ to R&F Mall’s invitation without further consideration. “Malaysians, let’s work together to build a stronger community. Do stay tuned to my Facebook live stream this Saturday at 2pm!”
Aiming to attract more donations, a ‘fun challenge session’ will be included in each fundraising show like Singing While Planking Challenge, Spicy Noodle Challenge etc. Public are welcomed to donate any amount during that session. Additional proceeds will also go to Lions Club of JB City.
